As Chair of the EiEWGN Safe Schools Declaration sub-committee, REI assisted in the planning of the "Sensitization Workshop on the Operationalization of SSD and the Guidelines in Security Agencies in Nigeria" held on the 4th and 5th December 2019 at the National Defence College, Abuja. The objectives of the workshop was to sensitise the security agencies about the SSD and reach a consensus on the way forward. The following conclusions were made : Mainstreaming the SSD Guidelines into security agencies doctrines, training manuals and SOPs. Engage more with the legal, policy, training and operations departments of the security agencies. Education Services Department of the Ministry of Defence should coordinate the establishment of SSD Security Network across the Security Agencies with SSD Desk from FME as member.
